What Is Yoga Kundalini?

Kundalini is a form of meditation and yoga that was developed more than 50,000 years ago by rishis in the countries of India and Tibet. Just like with many other forms of alternative medication and holistic healing, we can never really be sure about their exact origins simply because they usually span back thousands of years – as is the case with Kundalini.

What we do know however, is that Kundalini was mastered by Yogi Bhajan when he was just 16 years old. After finishing college, serving in the Indian military, fathering three children, and working as a customs officer, he received an offer to teach Kundalini yoga at the University of Toronto.

Yogi Bhajan experienced some complications along the way but eventually went on to become a very popular teacher of Kundalini yoga and helped many people around this. This is how Kundalini was brought over to the western world.
